Firstly my apologies that my website is out of date. I am currently in the process of finding an editor who can do all the things that I cannot do myself.

2008 was a busy year: I created a major new work in Detmold, Germany along with choreographer Tamara McLorg 'Across A Clear Blue Sky'. The piece had over 80 dancers, the youngest was 13 and the oldest 80+ (the latter was a former Mary Wigman dancer. It was amazing to meet her and work with her). We worked in an aircraft hanger, with a performance space of 70m x 30m. It was challanging and interesting to have the opportunity to work with that size of space and perspective. Chris Benstead composed the music which was played live and Pete Ayres created the lighting design. The city of Detmold is committed to developing a sustainable dance in the community programme and is funding the development and mentoring of German based dance artists in residence. The work is under the artistic direction of Royston Maldoom.Other work for me in Germany includes teaching in Hamburg and in Vienna training and mentoring potential locally based dance artists in residence.

I worked on my pARTner's residency. This was funded by The Scottish Art's Council and Artlink Edinburgh. The residency involved working in collaboration with three individuals with complex learning disabilities and their carers in there home environments - living rooms and bedrooms. Each person was initiator of and participant in the work and the collaborations resulted in very distinct, interesting, creative and private performances.

I performed in 'We Dance Wee Groove' devised by Stillmotion under the direction of Brian Hartley, as part of Imaginate Children's Festival in Edinburgh and Glasgow's Inspiration Festival. The work is all for under 5's and is performed with live DJ, VJ and live sound.

I was also a participant in  the Artist As Leader Lab, a week long residential with policy makers and artists that considered the role, function and potential of the artist in society. The lab was initiated by the CEO and Working In Public and supported by PAL Labs and The Scottish Arts Council

In 2008 was also appointed as an artistic advisor for dance with The Scottish Arts Council

As for 2009 I am continuing with the development work in Germany and Vienna; am making a new work in Hamburg in July; and have recieved funding from The Scottish Arts Council and DanceHouse to create new work in collaboration with individual performers with learning disabilities, the first stage of which will be performed in CCA in Glasgow in September. I also hope to have my website fully updated!
