Janice is a member of The 8 Cities Project: Spitting Women a live art collaboration resulting from a New Territories Winter School with Anne Seagrave. 13 women performance artists will create and perform new work in progress in 8 cities over the next three years. The first residency was in Bonnington Gallery, Nottingham in June.

 

She was recently part of the core group Working In Public: Art, Practice and Policy with Suzanne Lacy, a seminar series that aimed to develop a new thinking in relation to art practices that work within social and cultural spheres. This culminated with a presentation in The Scottish Parliament. She also acted as mentor to producer Jean Cameron in a Dancebase residency Vote With Your Feet that looked at the relationships between dance and politics.

 

She is currently a member of the Public Art Policy Reference Group with The Scottish Arts Council; and is developing a theoretical and practical response to a new research initiative that looks at the Artist as Leader.

 

Janice is also developing a number of new choreographies and projects in collaboration with artists and organisations 2008.

 

Janice was the recipient of a Creative Scotland Award in 2005 which produced the publication ‘Take a Look at What is Actually There’.
